Hello and welcome to Zulie Mami! Whether you’re an expectant parent or navigating the complex world of education and family life, you’re in the right place.
 
I believe every family deserves to feel supported, heard, and confident throughout their journey into parenthood. My goal is to create a welcoming, judgment-free space where you can ask questions, explore your options, and feel empowered to make the choices that are right for you and your family.
 
Through my work as a birth worker and the services I offer, I provide personalized support based on where you are and what you need. Whether you’re preparing for birth, adjusting to life with a new baby, or looking for support along the way, I’m here to meet you with compassion, respect, and genuine care.
 
Credentials: Certified Birth Doula (Mama Glow), Certified Childbirth Educator (Mama Glow), Maternal Health Consultant (Love N Touch and Sistersong), and Certified Lactation Specialist (Lactation Education Consultants).
 
In education, I help students and families build stronger reading skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. With a deep personal love of reading and a passion for literacy, I understand the transformative power reading can have on a learner’s academic success and overall confidence. Through personalized reading intervention tutoring, I provide targeted, engaging support designed to meet each learner’s unique needs and help them discover the joy and confidence that come with becoming a stronger reader.
 
With years of experience working with students, families, schools, libraries, and nonprofit organizations, I understand that every learner has different strengths, challenges, and goals. My approach combines individualized strategies, evidence-informed instruction, and practical guidance to build stronger reading skills, greater confidence, and lasting academic success.
 
Credentials: Structured Literacy/Dyslexia Interventionist, IMSE Orton-Gillingham Certified Educator, and licensed PK-3rd grade teacher.

1 on 1 Virtual Reading Intervention:

What ages and grades do you work with?

I work with PreK-3rd grade students (4th-5th grade if assessments show a need) who are learning to read or need support strengthening reading skills. Instruction is always based on your child’s reading skills, not just their grade.

What type of reading struggles do you help with?

I support students who are:

  • behind in reading
  • struggling with decoding (sounding out words)
  • guessing words instead of reading accurately
  • building early reading skills
  • needing structured literacy support
  • showing signs of reading difficulties or dyslexia traits

 

Are sessions virtual?

Yes. All sessions are conducted virtually for flexibility and consistency.

Birth & Postpartum Support:

What is a birth worker/doula?

A birthworker/doula is a trained, non-medical professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to a mother/birthing person and their family. 

What are the benefits of having a birthworker/doula?

Studies have shown that having a doula can help reduce labor time, lower the rate of medical interventions (including C-sections), and can help improve mother-baby bonding post-birth.

What does pregnancy and postpartum care look like with Zulie Mami?

Birth is sacred and unique for each family. As your birthworker, I encourage you to lean into your intuition to make decisions that best suit you and your family. I also offer relaxation techniques, birth planning, and information about your birthing options.
